Anti-gay Eddie Long: took young boys on expensive junkets

Junkets-with-young-boys Eddie Long seems to have finally come round to the realization that he can no longer pretend that it is ‘business as usual’ given the swirling clouds of scandal that eventually proved too much for his own wife, leading her to file for divorce.

Money quote by Long (from CNBC):

 ”I’m still your pastor. You’ll still receive my direction,” he said Sunday. “You’ve given me some weeks to take care of some family business.”

Some family business?! Some family business is when you take leave of absence to drive a cousin to a job interview. Or when you take a day off to take your son to his first day at college. You don’t talk about a homo-pedophile threat to your 21-year-old marriage as “some family business!!”

All in all, the Lord above seems to have delivered to Long his comeuppance and AfroGay feels it is finally time to get off this poor hypocritical man’s case.

Moral of the story:

If you are a man, are fond of hanging out with beautiful young boys, giving them expensive gifts, taking them on exotic junkets and sharing hotel rooms with them, don’t stand on the pulpit and condemn men who have sex with men. It might not only make you look like a hypocrite, but a pedophile, too. And most certainly don’t pay off those youths to keep their mouths shut about your activities with them.

Just bring it to the light and the truth will set you free!!

Eddie Long settles out of court

For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. (Thessalonians 5:5)

As was widely expected, Eddie Long has blinked. He has settled out of court, in the dead of night, the pedophile homo-sodomy lawsuit brought by four young men who claimed he lured them into sexual trysts with gifts, junkets and favors bought with church money. In contrast to ‘bringing it to the light’ as Long publicly promised, he instead opted for the road more traveled; a road that answers no questions, throws none of the five rocks he promised to throw, and reveals nothing about what kind of cash settlement the boys (now young men) have walked away with. But, you can take it to the bank that they have been paid off to keep quiet about the sexual shenanigans that happened between them and Long.

Of course it had to be settled out of court. There was simply too much at stake for Long if this case had come to trial. His church is already hemorrhaging congregants, and the embarrassment of the court revelations would no doubt have made it worse. Yes, possums, this was/is about money because money is all Eddie Long is about. As long as they continue dropping their dollars onto his collection plates, this man will say whatever he thinks his congregation wants to hear up to and including condemning homosexual activity, as well as conducting gay curing seminars. Then when their backs are turned, we now know that the anti-gay pastor is not averse to engaging in gay sexual activity with boys using the collection from his flock.

AfroGay cannot be too sure now, but isn’t there a specific verse in the Bible condemning that sort of hypocrisy? I must find it one of these days. Now, I must make myself a cup of tea.
