It reminds me of another conversation I was involved in. We were asking each other what the right question should be when it came to many social-political issues in African countries.It was a representative group indeed and being in Massachusetts we had quite many answers. Thanks for pointing most of the topics we came around to ( though not with the same Queen’s English,I may add).

I will make the correction about the “boyfriend” shortly. Old picture? I think it shows a very beautiful man so I am inclined to keep it unless you have serious objections.

The enduring and durable solutions for end-to-AIDS among the gay Ugandan community is to: 1. establish support clubs 2. establish small community study groups ( seminar/workshop approaches) to be led by professionals ( by this I mean persons who have atleast HSC/Diploma/Degree level training).Let us face the fact that many leaders are not well educated and like the famous former Ugandan Minister and EAC Sec Gen. Amanya Mushega’s Bigada’s cycle Conundrum: ‘Bigada turns out Biganda!’3.keep records 4. Monitor progress 5. Use condoms and water based lubricants for every sexual event 6. Establish monogamy clubs ( through formal marriage rites) 7. Establish a credit extension service 8. Establish a scholarship programme 9. establish reading and writing clubs 10. Volunteer regularly and use that surplus time you have on you.

It takes so many hands to the pump! It gives me so much joy to see so many people ( I meant names) mentioned when it comes to real HIV care. This community had 4 medical doctors willing to give direct “physician-grade” support. But, times were not ripe perhaps. Unfortunately these doctors had to move on for dear life. I personally enrolled many gay-living-with HIV (glwh) on an ARV support programme as well as the Septrin prophylactic plan as well as providing money that went to subsistence. One would think that the Catholic Church leaders in Africa would learn from what has happened in Europe and the United States. You may try to silence the rumors, but sooner or later the truth comes to light. In this case, obviously, the shame and disgrace is falling on the leadership of the church. Proof once again that power, whether secular or sacred, corrupts. Great post!
