Kony’s very black commander

Captured: Ceasar Acellam Otto (picture from New Vision, Uganda)

He has not lived a life that most of us might consider to be edifying. Some reports have claimed, rather plausibly, that Caesar Acellam Otto, one of Joseph Kony‘s top commanders, “captured innocent people in a village, slaughtered them, cooked them in a big pot and ordered the remaining villagers to eat them…”

It’s gory stuff, but such have been the horror stories surrounding the activities of Joseph Kony (whose whereabouts are still exercising armies from at least three countries) and the Lord’s Resistance Army that he leads, that almost anything heinous attributed to him and his men rings true.

In any case, given the fact that there is nothing of import that I can add to the already terrible list of atrocities, I have decided to comment on something that is no less edifying that has caught my eye. I mean, Otto’s face is blacker than his hair for crying out loud.

Looking at the photograph of Caesar Acellam Otto … is it possible for anyone, man or woman, to be more black? Is it the sun that turned him so black, or did the creator really intend to give this man that sort of finishing?

Otto certainly does bring into sharp focus the expression “as black as the ace of spades.”
